Devonstone - Ngurambang - panel with three paintings
Ngurambang 40cm width of fabric panel.
Ngurambang means 'country' or 'home' in the Wiradjuri language
This panel features three different paintings by Wayne reproduced as a 40cm (16 inch) width of fabric panel .
- The top is Dhuray (connection) and is about Aboriginal people's strong connection to country
- In the middle is Bandhaa Yarrudhang (kangaroo dreaming) which is about a kangaroo family coming together for a family ceremony
- and at the bottom is another called Ngulburnan (waterholes) and explores the rivers on country.
Wayne is a Wiradjuri/Maranganji man who in partnership with his wife Daniell (a Wulli Wulli woman from central Queensland) formed Ngurambang Cultural Education and Art was formed. Wayne is the artist and loves to share his culture and his painting has allowed him to share his journey, cultural knowledge and experiences.
